- I sat in the car outside number 32 with the engine idling and KC's
- "Please don't go" reverberating. My head grew heavy, my neck weak. I
- had now killed twice, once intentionally. Inside number 32, Becky's
- head slowly drained as she waited for Santa Claus, the unlucky recipient
- of an unwitting headbutt. Becky slaughter -- serious shit. The tape
- auto-reversed and Thirlwell's "Motorslug" kicked in. I shifted into "D"
- and floored the accelerator. The car leapt forward, the wheel fell from
- my hands. There was no turning back.
