If this is the case why does God often end pregnancies before they
come to term, or even before there is any awareness that the woman
was pregnant at all?  Is this God's will?  Then who is to say that
abortions aren't?  Abortions are an interception of God's will?  Why?
Evidently, God is deciding whether or not the egg gets fertilized,
so contraception is part of his plan.  Like most people, Bonhoeffer
was saying "Because God wants it that way," as a stand-in remark.
His real belief is, "Because *I* want it that way."  I would have
liked to have been able to take him to task for this idiotic
remark.
