  17. it was put to referendum - does this not give it a higher status?  How does

  20. Please forgive my ignorance and all - but the only news in english that I get
  21. here is the Irish papers and the BBC world service, neither of which have said
  22. anything about FOCA that I know about.

  24. Also, I have come to think that the proper place to affirm the right to
  25. abortion is in a constitution - for precisely the reason that Steve gives
  26. above.  You wouldn't want other basic freedoms to be placed at the whim of a
  27. government would you?  Does anyone else agree?
