- When I lived in Boston about 5 years ago, there was a story on the
- news saying that the local utility had just rewired some homes on
- Beacon Hill (Boston's most upscale neighborhood) for ac power that had
- been on a dc grid since about the turn of the century. Evidently the
- rich folks had gotten electric lights first, before the ac/dc
- controversy was settled, and they never converted until recently.
