- For the past several years, I have noticed a problem that seems to
- come sporadically, for weeks or months at a time and then goes away for
- many months. When it happens, here's what I experience.
-
- I'll wake up in the middle of the night, finding one or more of my
- limbs are asleep. Usually it's just one arm or one leg, but often
- it will be both arms or both legs.
-
- It seems that this happens for a period of weeks or months and then
- doesn't happen again for many months. I've tried to pay attention
- when I wake up to see if I've been laying on my arm in a funny way
- or sleeping in a strange position. Although that is sometimes the
- case, it usually is not. most of the time, it seems that I'm
- sleeping in quite a normal position and my arms or legs just fall
- asleep for no apparent reason.
-
- My question is, does this happen to anyone else and is it cause
- for any concern? I'm also curious as to why this wakes me up.
-
- It doesn't happen very often during the day unless I'm sitting on
- my leg or leaning back on my arm in an awkard position. It's mostly
- a nighttime problem.
-
- Any insight would be appreciated.
- Thanks,
