  13. I was reading a review of a Hemingway biography and it 
  14. mentiones that Ernest Hemingway's father invented a medical
  15. instrument which he refused to patent because "it would be wrong
  16. to profit from something that benefits humanity."

  18. Would anyone know what that instrument is? The review does not
  19. mention it.
