- After having read various topics on this usergroup,
- I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on
- some repetitive problems that I have.
-
- These being :
- a) Discomfort, tightness & throbbing in the lower-left
- hand-side of the abdomen;
-
- b) Repetitive (but intermittent) loose bowel movements
- (sometime of what would appear to be *very* undigested
- food)
-
- c) Intermittent cloudiness of urine (especially late @ night)
-
- I have had this problem for nearly 2 years now, and, after
- *repeatedly* going to see my ex-doctor, I was referred to
- a consultant who asked me about my diet,
- (which is reasonably balanced - LOTS of fibre, average amounts
- of fruit), and got me to make a list of what I ate over the next
- six weeks - and what effects the food had.
- Well, I ate things like chicken Kiev, chilli, curry
- - as normal - and noted that it didn't 'upset' my stomach/guts
- whatsoever.
- I went back to the consultant and showed him my notes and was
- booked in to have a sigmoidoscopy - most enjoyable I DON'T THINK!!!
- The doctor who examined me during this process, told me after that
- he couldn't see/find anything wrong and that at least some of it
- could be due to stress/anxiety.
-
- Since then - one year ago - I have still recurrences, and was
- given recently a course of Propranolol (Half-Inderal LA)
- and was told that this was supposed to help someone with
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome - but this hasn't had any real effect.
-
- With regards to the cloudy urine, I have donated a number of
- specimens to the MicroBiology department,
- I may have named the wrong one here, but they have not found
- anything wrong.
-
- The net result of all of this is that I am still experiencing
- these problems - as well as another unfortunate development
- of piles due to the loose movements
- (which for a 25yr old male bisexual is even harder to cope with)
- - oh, and sleepness nights due to reading/hearing of people
- who have had similar problems end up having a colostomy
- or ileostomy.
-
- If anyone can shed some light on this - or maybe a cure?
- - please e-mail me, as I would be VERY GREATFUL for some help.
-
- Thanks in anticipation,
- Eddie Chandler.
