- In the October 1992 issue of SunWorld magazine, there is an
- article that reviews several mathematics packages, including
- Mathematica. On page 63 the article, "Adding it up:
- The ASTC examines Mathematica, Xmath, IMSL/IDL, RSI/IDL, and MATLAB" by
- Matthew Witten, Ph.D. Med., shows a picture of Mathematica, running
- on a SPARCstation 1+ in the X11R5 environment, with a notebook interface.
- There are a host of window buttons that I don't have running
- Mathematica 2.1 on a SPARCstation IPC in OpenWindows.
-
- My question to you netters is: does a notebook interface exist for
- the Sun 4 platform or is this article in error? I tried emailing
- Dr. Witten but have not received a response in two weeks. As far
- as I know, Mathematica on Unix platforms is strictly command line
- based. But then, maybe I need X11R5.
-
- Any comments? (Spare me from the flames, please :-) )
