  15. thankyou all to everyone who replied to my original post: I should have posed
  16. the query BEFORE I started to teach the course! Most replies said that the 
  17. teaching of statistics to beginners was always difficult and that the change of 
  18. emphasis away from traditional lectures to a more experimental presentation 
  19. helped students see the relevance of the material. If I ever am called upon to 
  20. teach the course again, I shall try this approach. Thanks again,
