- Could anybody give me reference(s) on the following problem:
-
- There are spheres of two different radii (r1 & r2). A fraction of spheres
- of radius r1 is fixed. What is _maximal_ packing ratio (i.e. maximal
- volume fraction occupied by spheres that do not penetrate) in 3D space?
- What is the packing ratio for a _random_ close packing? How it behaves
- at r1<<r2 ?
-
- Thanks a lot
