- Well I'm not. Please DO read National Merit Finalist as National Merit
- Semifinalist with formalities. The difference between the two is that
- semifinalists are chosen objectively and finalists are all semi-finalists
- who fit the stereotypes that the organizers have in mind for the nation's
- brightest individuals. This cut of 5% of all semifinalists is highly
- subjective and effectively meritless.
