- Hi,
- I think that the possibilities differ, if compact sets are involved:
- If one covers some region with closed sets, there need not be a finite
- collection of those sets to cover the region.
- Since there are a lot of proofs which use this compactness property,
- one would have to invent a new type of continuity: the (usual) one mapping
- open sets back to open sets.
