- * The corrosion process of zirconium in the nuclear power
- station
- The interaction of the zirconium single crystal (0001) and
- (100) and polycrystal with O2, CO2 and H2O is studied by the
- AES, SIMS, TDS, WF and LEED. The kinetic and thermodynamic
- models was established to explain the experimental results.

- The main duty of this position is to keep every machine
- running well for the research purposes.
- * Interdiffusion and reaction at the interface
- The interaction between YBCO & BSSCO high temperature
- superconductor films and ZrO2 & SrTiO3 substrate.
- * The data obtained and processing system for LEED-AES-SIMS
- system
- The LAS(LEED-AES-SIMS)-2000 system we bought from REBER
- company (France) is controlled by a PDP-11 computer. The
- software for data obtaining and processing is quite rough
- and is not compatible to PC which has a lot of powerful
- commercial software for data processing. This project was
- established to pick up the data by PC compatible computer
- and process the data for our own purposes.

- * The phase transformation in copper based shape memory
- alloy(SMA)
- The structure of parent and martensitic phase was studied by
- TEM and XRD. The mathematical model was established to
- explain the influence of pre-deformation on the two way
- shape recovery behaviour.
- * The computer aided design for SMA components
- A computer software was programmed for designing of the SMA
- spring used as temperature control components. The project
- was proposed by industry to design the new products and now
- is popular used in a couple of plants in China.
