- Luc,
-
- You omitted posting the lead-in to my post - IT WAS A LAST SECOND THING
- AND I NEVER WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!!! The resolution possible from shooting
- directly from the screen pales in comparison to the setup I had before
- which was taking a Postscript color file to a NeXT and using a software
- package to translate it to Deskjet 500C language. The quality possible
- off of that cheap color printer beats the shots off the screen that I
- took, hands down. It also generated overheads, not slides, so I could have
- stayed consistent with my mode of presentation (don't want to give 'em a
- chance to think).
-
- Also, Texas A&M has one of the boondoggle boxes mentioned by Jon - it is the
- only one publicly available on campus and is therefore booked weeks in
- advance. The folks there said it could only take GIFF files - 90 some odd
- dpi looks worse than the slides shot off the screen (at least I think that
- is what GIFF is). Jon was correct, it does contain all the parts that I
- assembled but I think you shoot it off a projection of the screen to remove
- pixelation effects (a guess). I wish someone would smarten up off campus
- and offer the box; probably get a lot of last minute, money is no object
- business.
-
- Perhaps I should drop G school and ...
