  12.     A friend of mine (who graduated as an industrial engineer)
  13. is becoming extremely discouraged with certain aspects of his job
  14. Time after time, he has complained of the apathy of the managers
  15. who run the large factory where he works. Entirely too much time
  16. and effort seems to be wasted in the generation of reports, useless
  17. or bogus numbers, and foolish political projects that will accomplish
  18. little or nothing. (not to mention meetings) 
  19.     Moral at the plant is very low, among both the floor workers
  20. and the salaried staff; most have become very cynical, feeling that
  21. management does nothing but screw them, lie, and manuever for thier
  22. own aggrandizement. My friend feels constant frustration with the
  23. endless corporate games and the anti-effectiveness or the managerial
  24. 'team'. He truely wants to solve real problems, help people work 
  25. more efficiantly, and recieve recognition for that. Solving
  26. problems is his real joy; hypocracy, make-work, and the elitism
  27. so characteristic of many engineers and managers he hates.

  29.     Does anyone else have these same problems or concerns?

  31.     Can anyone suggest a company where these problems are absent
  32. or minimal?
