  12. I have a problem that I'd like to get suggestions for solving.  I have
  13. a two meter radio for which I'd like to have an outdoor antenna.  My
  14. problem is that my father is neurotic and thinks that putting an
  15. antenna outside is like putting up a lightning magnet.  So I'd like to
  16. run the antenna outside in such a way that he couldn't tell it was
  17. there.  I do have some advantages in this endeavor:

  19. 1.  Several years ago I drilled a second hole under the one where the
  20. phone cable came into the house so I could have a second line installed.
  21. The second line is now defunct and I could easily run the antenna cable
  22. out through the hole in such a way that it would appear to be the same
  23. cable that has been there for years for the second line.

  25. 2.  There are two telephone cables running up the side of the house.
  26.  
  27. What I was thinking was that I could make a vertically polarized dipole
  28. and hang it behind/nestled-in the two telephone cables so it'd look
  29. like part of them.  Might confuse telephone repairmen but oh well!  =-)
  30. By the way, I mean hang it on the side of the house, not from the cable
  31. run hung from the phone pole to the house.  ;-)

  33. I do know enough, however, to know about a special gift from God called
  34. induction.  =-)  Would I have to worry alot about the antenna inducing
  35. current in the phone line?  The transmitter will run at no more than
  36. about 1 watt (which is why an outdoor antenna would be helpful).

  38. Anybody else have any suggestions?
