- Most likely your power supply electrolytic filter capacitors have dried up.
- These can sometimes be difficult to find exact replacements for. It is
- common for them to have multiple sections with different values in each
- section. Usually, old equipment has enough empty space in it to stuff in
- two or three individual caps in place of the original one.
- If it were me, I'd buy a new stereo, but I know how some audiophiles get
- attached to some of that old Scott stuff. :-)
