- I have recently had a second line added at my house.
-
- As you may know your existing house phone line has four wires in it. Only
- the red and green wires are used. This means that if you connect your
- existing yellow and black wires of your house wiring to the red and green
- wires of your new service, you can instantly access the second phone line
- anywhere in your house. Just purchase a two line wall socket and replace
- the existing socket where you need the second line. Wire the red and
- green of your house wiring to the red and green of the first socket. Wire
- the yellow and black of the house wiring to the red and green of the
- second socket.
-
- By the way 2 line panasonic phones assume that the second line is on the
- yellow and black wires, and so will work with existing single line sockets
- for two line operation.
