- I recently moved into a new cubicle at work. Because of the limited
- space, my Sun workstation is very close to a 4' flourescent light
- tube (it's about a foot away). I've noticed that the screen flickers
- when the light is on. I remember hearing that flourescent lights
- actually go on and off about 120 times per second, but because of the
- limitations of the human eye, we don't notice and it's not a problem.
- I suspect that either the current going on and off in the light tube or
- the ballast is causing the screen flicker.
-
- Short of just turning off the light (which would make this cubicle
- _very_ dark!), is there anything I can do to reduce or eliminate the
- flicker? It's very annoying!
-
- All suggestions would be appreciated. I'd prefer a direct e-mail
- response since I'm quite behind in my news reading!
