- Here are some bits and pieces. I'd be very interested in a more
- authoritative list, since I just been put in charge of our "computers
- in biology" instruction committee.

- -There's a mac program called HyperCell for cell physiology that's
- impressed some of our cell people. I don't know much about it
- really. I've heard the graphics are good.

- -There's a nice shareware ecology program called Populus for population
- ecology written primarily by Don Alstad at Minnesota. You can find
- his e-mail address by fingering alstad@umn.edu.

- -Some folks seem to like a program called Stella (for Macs) that can
- be used to model dynamic systems with boxes, flows and controls of
- various kinds.

- -We've also used MathCad (leslie matrices, chaos in the discrete
- logistic) and Mathematica (numerical differential equation solving
- e.g. the lotka-volterra systems) for ecology labs here.
