  31. I have been using a program called HIPPARCHUS that is put out by 
  32. sofTouch APpLications.

  34. The thing about this software is that it will do precision plots
  35. for about +/- 50,000 years by applying the correct proper motion
  36. for the stars in the Yale 2000 catalog.  It does have the option 
  37. of showing you the horizon view for any given place on the Earth 
  38. at any given time or you can view the entire sky from your location.
  39.  
  40. It will also show you the positon of all the planets, Moon and Sun
  41. with the same type of precision.  If you are doing archaeoastronomy
  42. then this might be the thing you are looking for.

  44. The software costs $50 and will run on any Mac.
