- I live on an island in the Penobscot river which is officially a
- game reserve. The problem is that I tend to FORGET that it is
- hunting season when I go for long runs which take me off the
- island...at least I forget for a few moments. Last year I set off
- for a twenty miler in blissful ignorance of the fact that it was
- murder month. I was fine until I turned off the main road onto a
- ten mile stretch of dirt road. When the gunfire started, which
- it did, I upped my pace. Now this isn't really funny, but I ran
- pretty close to my 10 mile pr and easily broke 2 hours for the full
- twenty. I think the best advice-lamentably-is only run where you
- KNOW you are safe, indoors. Be careful out there...
- giles.
