- In a previous article, lbrodie@hpscit.sc.hp.com (Les Brodie) says:
-
- >You did not say how often and how far you are running. Perhaps you
- >have an overuse injury.
-
- It very well could be overuse. I have a tendency to run hard (at least
- for my stage of development). Was doing 3-4 miles a day mostly on a
- dirt/gravel trail with an occasional three mile asphalt run and
- one day off per week.
- A lot of friends have said run every other day. Go slower. Ride a
- bike. All good advice.
-
- >You may want to check out a good running book like Galloway's.
-
- Definitely going to look for it.
-
- >Try to ramp up very slowly when your aches and pains subside.
-
- Will do. Plan to try REAL slow easy jogs for a week or two.
- I'll say this is a very intense learning experience for me...listening
- to the body, struggling to keep my running goals in realistic check.
- I'd like to thank all on the net who have taken the time to offer advice
- to this novice. Belive me, I appreciate it.
