- September 1992 Proportional DC electric Motor control 0 - 100%
- Circuit board for surface mount 3/4" x 2 1/8"
- Valid for any DC motor with a current rating less than the FET used
- IRFZ48 60 Amps TO-220 $5 Can.
- Control connects to +/- and signal from Airtronics receiver
- Circuit board replaces servo in standard mounting bracket
- Break existing circuit at fuse to allow current to flow through FET
- add one small wire to switch as reference for Q3
-
- SPEED CONTROLLER PARTS LIST:
-
- 1- LM324 Op Amp (everybody makes one) Single supply, Quad, low cost
- LM224, LM124 are temperature specs
-
- R1, R2, R4, R5, R9, R12,R14 - 4.7 k resistors as small as possible
- (or 2.2 k or whatever you
- have lots of.)
- R3 - 33 k (ramp generator)
- R6 - 180 k (current limit to avoid trouble in the receiver)
- R7, R8 - 1 Megohm (filter for 50 Hz noise)
- R10 - 10 k pot ( or 50 or 100 or whatever)(offset since control signal
- is never zero)
- R11 - 27 k ( or whatever you need to get a nice full throttle travel)
- R13 - 2.2 k (or whatever you need to turn the MOSFET fully on)
- C1 - 0.033 uF (collects signal input and averages over severalpulses)
- C2 - 0.047 uF (filter with R8)
- C3 - 0.033 uF (part of ramp generator)
- D1, D2, D3 - 1N4148 ( small signal diodes try without D3 )
- Q1 - IRFZ40 MOSFET ( or any fet that can take 15 Amps and 15 volts with
- a low On resistance; IRFZ40 - 0.028 ohms, IRF540 - 0.085 ohms, IRFP064 - 0.009 ohms)
- Q2 - 2N4401 NPN transistor
- Q3 - 2N4403 PNP transistor
