- I was just told by my dealership that the ticking noise I hear in my
- engine is simply "injection noise" and is not problem. I know that
- it's not valves because it ticks at a higher frequency than the engine
- is running (that, and it doesn't change volume when I (carefully)
- remove the valve cover cap whilst the engine is running).
-
- What is the source of this "injection noise?" Is it is a small check
- valve or rod jumping up and down? Is it the injection pump
- lifters/cam clattering around? It's loud enough that I can hear it
- from the drivers seat with the window closed. (It must be coming
- through the firewall somewhere.)
-
- Just curious,
- Dennis
