- The truth is:
- 1) its not too hard to do; column shifts let you go anywhere once
- you pull, floor shifter buttons only stop you from getting 2-1 instead
- of D. At least that was the case in my father's '65 442 and my
- mother's 76 Volvo 244.

- 2) It only stalls the engine if you happen to get into the
- reverse. I decided to coast down a hill (yes, its illegal) and after
- I reached 35mph, I went to put it back into D and went to R. Stalled
