  10. I recall there being a discussion in the last couple
  11. of weeks about oil filters, but I no longer have access
  12. to it.  Basically the discussion was whether certain
  13. cars should use oil filters only from the car manufacturer
  14. rather than buying a Fram or other after-market brand.
  15. I need to buy an oil filter for my 1987 Toyota Celica
  16. [just bought it a week ago; sold my 1973 Plymouth Duster :(]
  17. and was wondering whether it was reasonable to just go ahead 
  18. and get a Fram filter or whether there was some reason to buy a
  19. filter from the local Toyota dealership.  The filter is
  20. mounted upright in case that is relevant in the decision
  21. (I recall some mention of check-valves or something in
  22. the oil filter discussion a couple of weeks ago).
