- This is how I've rotated tires, learned it from a trucker.
- Get your self a tread depth gauge, measure the tread at three points across
- the tire (avoid wear bars) and repeat this twice more at +&- 120 degrees
- from this point. write it down, repeat on all other tires (even spare).
- I then take the tire that has the most wear and put it on the wheel
- that had the least wear or put it up as the spare. If there is uniform
- wear between two tires I swap them. I get 75k out of my toyota tires
- this way BTW they're 8 ply too.
