- I have a 92 Grand Caravan. For the middle bench seat, the right-hand seatbelt
- has two mounting places on the floor, to accomodate 2-person and 3-person
- bench seats. To move the seatbelt, you unclip it from one ring and clip it
- onto the other. The clip attached to the belt is essentially a heavy-duty
- 'dog chain clip', i.e. it has a little piece of spring metal built into it
- to keep it from coming unclipped accidentally. This piece of metal has
- broken, and twice I have found myself not belted in as we were driving along.
-
- First, does anybody know if I would be able to get Chrysler to fix this for
- free, either out of good will or legal necessity? The part (a seatbelt
- assembly) would cost about $75 as I recall, and installation would be about
- $40.
-
- Secondly, if this is happening to enough Voyagers, it could have the makings
- for a recall, right? To whom should I address this concern in Washington?
-
- The fact that I already need to purchase a new lug wrench is another story :-(
- Grumble, grumble.
