- I can't believe someone from my alma mater would go and make a fool
- out of himself like that. The fact is, it's tough for EVERYONE out there
- right now, whether you are from Purdue/U of I/insert your school here.
- I graduated from the U of I in 1990 with a B.S. in Aero Engineering. Of
- the 276 people who graduated in my department, _one_ had a job by February
- of next year. And don't give me grief about how we all should have gone
- to grad school; more people wanting in = more competition = less chance
- of you getting in. I had a 4.6/5.0 GPA and had worked on several in-house
- projects with grad students and professors, and I got rejected. As a matter
- of fact, if it weren't for my B.S. CS degree, I wouldn't have a job right
- now (thank god for double majors!).
-
- You people running this thread can do yourselves and all of us a big
- favor by pulling your head out of your ass and sticking it in a book.
- Remember: everyone getting laid off next year with their degrees and
- 3 to 5 years of job experience will be waiting for you.
-
- Have a nice day... now get to work.
