- This film is from the vinyl in the car *gassing* (sp?). Basically the vinyl
- is slowly drying up (that's why they make amor-al, etc...) and the byproducts
- end up on your windows, new cars are worse than older/used ones.

- I'll second the use of newspaper. It really does work (make sure you don't
- use the Sunday funnies though). For a window cleaner, I use the mix that
- Consumer Reports came up with (sometime last year).

- Haven't ever had a problem with any film on the outside of the windshield.
- I'd suggest a good grease cutting detergent as step 1 and then just straight
- ammonia and water as step 2.
