  12. 'oldsmobile sales plunged 21.9% in October, while sales for the entire industry
  13. improved 7.6% over a weak year-ago month', reports automotive news.
  14. rumors about olds demise killed sales.  people were cancelling orders and 
  15. asking where they could get their cars worked on after olds went under.
  16. gm's new chairman jack smale denied that the board had any thoughts of killing
  17. the division(of course the board also stated they were in full support of 
  18. stemple, then they canned him a week later).  they also canned the olds 98...
  19. this is the last year for it and the redesign of the cutlas cierra has been
  20. cancelled.  sounds to me like some big changes are going on.  i would 
  21. speculate that olds won't be around much longer in it's current form...maybe
  22. a name change and some different models can keep it alive...they are 
  23. supposedly going to have a 1994 model called the auroa which will be unique
  24. to olds.  looks like olds buyers better look to buick now!
