  20. Detectors are legal in all of the US, except for:
  21.  
  22. 1)  The District of Columbia (which is not a state, BTW);
  23.  
  24. 2)  Virginia;
  25.  
  26. 3)  New York state, but only for large commercial trucks.

  28. As you noted, a state did repeal its detector ban effective Oct. 1,
  29. but that state was Connecticut.
