- Well, the ammeter in my Monte would suggest otherwise.

- When sitting at idle, especially with any accessories operating like the
- windshield wipers, rear defogger, etc. the ammeter shows a definite
- discharge. When I start the car moving, the ammeter goes back up to zero.
- So, if you had underdrive pulleys, which according to Summit Racing reduce
- the speed of the pulleys by 25%, you could run into problems if your car
- spends a lot of time at stop-and-go lights.

- And yes, once the alternator gets spinning so fast, the voltage regulator
- keeps the alternator from blowing out every fuse in the car :-)
