- Well, I don't have to worry about someone stealing my car (because it
- is a piece of junk.)
-
- BUT, if I had to worry about somebody actually stealing my car, there
- are a couple of things that I would do.
-
- First, I would install a fuel lock. So, if all else fails, The thief
- won't get too far.
-
- Second, I would consider installing an electric disable switch.
- A thief can't start a car with no juice. Of course, you could take the battery
- with you, but if a thief wanted your car that bad, he would tow it.
-
- Another thing I would do. Leave the car in gear (if it is a stick.)
- This will spook the hell out of timid car thieves (there are a few out there)
- and cause them to leave.
-
- If you were of mechanical inclination, all you would really have to do
- is remove your steering wheel. Ain't no thief dumb enough to try to steal a
- car he can't steer.
-
- About stereos-well, I hate those bass speakers, but I don't think people
- will steal speakers, since they are big. They do Make removable stereos these
- days, the fact being that the thief can't take something that isn't there.
-
- Although I sort of have a preference for James Bond's car theft
- protection system. The car blows up if anybody tampers with it.
-
- Reasoning behind this: "If I can't have my car, nobody else can!"
