- Not to a windshield, but the same peculiar thing happened to one of the
- sliding glass doors that leads out of our basement. One day, we found it
- shattered edge to edge, with an almost uniform square crack pattern. There
- was no sign of any impact with any object (like a thrown rock or something.)
- The whole door was still in place, except for a couple of pieces that had
- fallen out. The door was hardly ever used, so anything use-related was
- pretty much ruled out. We eventually just attributed it to a defective
- piece of glass, replaced it, and forgot about it.
-
- I must say, the shattered door was quite something to see.
