- Depends on whether you are serious about getting into LD. I bought a combo
- player and sold my CD player even though the CD player sounded substantiall
- better than the LD player because I wanted to get into LD and I couldn't
- give a stuff about the sound of CDs since I don't buy the things all that
- often anyway.
-
- Sound quality is good from the LD player, but it basically sounds like a CD
- player for half the price. On the other hand there is the option to use an
- external DAC with it and many people consider LD transports to sound better
- than CD only transports, plus LD players should be more durable when
- playing CDs because they are designed to use heavier LDs.
-
- Once you get into LD though you are really likely to get hooked, I know I
- am.
