- Good point. I am assuming that MD will be as reliable as CD, and
- DCC will be as reliable as analog cassette. In my experience, CD
- players last longer than cassette players, require much less
- cleaning and maintenance. Also, analog tapes seem to have a
- lifespan of about 10 years in normal use on typical decks. If
- you use them in car decks and don't keep up the maintenance,
- you can hear them degrade a lot sooner. Maybe DCC will be less
- sensitive to physical deterioration of the tape, but why put
- up with this when you can have MD?
