- I get my news from a remote server via nntp under SLIP. The remote server
- only sends me news when I ask for it. Using the "reference implementation"
- for nntp, I run the command "/usr/local/bin/nntpxfer gate" to get news
- on demand from the remote server "gate". This command reads the groups
- I want and the time from a file called "nntp.gate" in my /usr/spool/news
- directory, fetches the batch from gate, and works fine with C-News.
-
- I am converting to INN on my local system, and it is running nicely to
- feed news via nntp down to my local feeds. But is there an INN command
- equivalent to the one above to get news batches on demand from a remote
- server? I do not want to keep C-News and the nntp reference implementation
- around if I don't have to.
-
- Tips appreciated.
