- I've been using nn for a long time now on Apollo workstations, and
- now I have to get it running on an HP 720 running HP-UX 8.07.
- Here's what I have already done.
-
- 1. copied my nn source tree from the Apollo system to the HP720.
-
- 2. compiled nn with gcc (2.3.1), (I don't have the HP developers kit) having
- configured nn with m-hp9000.h and a modified s-hpux7-0.h
- The modifications were:
- #undef USE_TERMINFO
- #define USE_TERMCAP
- comment out the #define EXTRA_LIB -lBSD
-
- Everything seems to build OK
- (I also built the mini-inews in inews/ )
-
- 3. I then ran ./inst (as SU) and installed everything.
-
- 4. I tried to INIT the database but instead I get the error:
-
- /usr/local/lib/nn/nnmaster invoked with wrong user privileges
-
- 5. I then ran the nnmaster from the source directory (i.e. not SUID/SGID)
- to init the database, and it worked!
-
- 6. I cannot run the SUID/SGID nnmaster to actually collect the database info;
- same error as above.
-
- Does anyone know of the appropriate incantations to get this working on the
- HP 720 under HP-UX??
-
- Thanks in advance.
