  16. Great news everyone, I was able to track down a solution for the
  17. Unix environment.  It is still in the developmental stages, but
  18. Dr.  Ephraim Glinert of RPI (Troy, New York) has been working on a
  19. software solution to enlarging the unix-based graphical user
  20. interface.  (NSF is funding this work (good work!!!!), so I have
  21. cc's for those of you working with and for NSF who also helped me
  22. track down this information.)

  24. He has been given the addresses of EASI member (especially Dr.
  25. Norman Coombs and Dr. Harry Murphy).  I encouraged him to write
  26. EASI about his work since so many of us could use a solution on the
  27. unix platform.  I hope he is able to make a presentation at the
  28. next CSUN convention as well!

  30. Again thank you all for your help in this research.  I have over
  31. twenty or so notes which contain your suggestions and comments.
  32. Dr. Glinert will speak for himself and his work, but I an thankful
  33. someone has been diligently working on this major problem.  (Now
  34. someone needs to tackle the speech-synthesis output solution for
  35. these machines.)
