- Sun just today announced their new SPARClassic. It's a 59 MIP machine and
- lists at $4,295 comes with 15" color, 16MB RAM, 200MB disk, and Solaris 2.1.
- Their new machine is twice a fast as a SPARC-2!
-
- Why would anyone want to pay $4,200 for a 12 MIP used machine, when they can
- purchase a *new* 59 MIP Sun with more RAM memory and the latest OS for the same
- price?
-
- Sorry to deflate your expectations, Jon, but I think that maybe the prices for
- older Sun equipment will drop through the roof now.. oh well. I own a SPARC 1+
- myself, and I expect the "market value" of it will now drop to well under $2000.
