- It seems as if several people are asking if items I offered for sale are still
- such. I made a deal with someone and the materials are sold; somehow I forgot
- to post to the net explaining this. Sorry for the inconvenience. (I've
- noticed that lots of messages between people get "lost" somewhere,
- communication is difficult on this net!)
-
- Anyway, does anyone out there know about a good source for single board
- computers? I'm looking for a single board computer meeting these specs:
-
- (at least) 8mHz 8088 or 8086
- 640K RAM capacity
- onboard serial port (parallel not necessary, but desirable)
- onboard cga or mono graphics adapter
- (at least 360K) onboard floppy controller (hard drive controller would be nice)
- connectable to standard style PC bus (8-bit)
-
- I know such a beast exists, because I saw one a few years ago in a Byte
- magazine and didn't think much of it. But now I have a really interesting MIDI
- project for which such a single-board computer would work quite nicely. I
- could supply memory, CPU, any external connectors, mounting, and power, but I
- haven't been able to find a single-board like this again. (The onboard
- graphics adapter is often missing). The single-board computer I saw was
- different from most in that it was a complete IBM-PC compatible system on a
- 8"X5.75" board w/daughterboard. It wasn't merely an 8088 based custom
- computer with limited support of DOS programs.

- Anyone have comments?
