- If it turns out that Vincent Poy does not ever return anyone's
- calls, email, or snail mail; then you should report it to the
- post office as mail fraud. However, you should be very careful
- about it since it is a federal offense (sp?). I, myself, got
- married between the time I posted things to be sold, received
- some of the checks, and could send the items out to everyone.
- This caused those people whom I hadn't called/written a great
- deal of concern. Gladly, they waited for me to respond. The
- same might be happening to Vincent Poy. He might have had an
- emergency (like a death in the family) and had to go somewhere
- quickly. Or the checks were received a day or two before he was
- scheduled to go on vacation. Who knows? Things do come up.
-
- My suggestion is to give him three weeks. Send him a message
- once a day (or at least once a week). After three weeks your
- check should have cleared and Vincent will have been given
- adequate time to respond. After that length of time - it is
- time to worry. Also, during this time, it would be wise of
- you to send a letter via snail mail which has a return receipt
- on it. In this way, he can not say he didn't receive your
- letter asking him to mail you the equipment you bought. (Be
- sure to include your email and snail mail address on the
- letter so there can be no doubt about him knowing how to reach
- you.)
-
- If he doesn't reply, you should go to the next step. The Post
- Office. You should keep a copy of everything you sent to
- him and take it with you to the Post Office (including
- your canceled check). Inform them of the situation and ask
- for their help. They will direct you to the next step. That's
- all I know and can say.
-
- Remember:Be sure to give them enough time to reply, document
- your letters (ie: Make copies of them before you send them),
- and only take legal action after all other avenues have been
- exhausted.
