  13. I would like to address the issue of the large number of short, personal
  14. messages that have suddenly been proliferating this list/ newsgroup/ echo/
  15. conference, or whatever else in manifests itself as.

  17. PLEASE STOP!!!!!

  19. There are a lot of us that don't have enough time to sort through 60-70
  20. messages/ day when only about half contain any useful discussion or information.
  21. We don't particularly care who knows who else in someone or other's
  22. organization.  These messages belong in personal e-mail. They do not belong
  23. on the list being distributed all over the world.

  25. I notice a lot of these are coming from FidoNet.  I don't know why, but you
  26. guys should be a little more considerate.  Please realize that these messages
  27. come through with about 20 lines of header and 3 lines of text, and get
  28. distributed throughout the world.  This wastes resources, and net resources are
  29. not inexhaustable.  Here's a hint:  If you start the message with a person's
  30. name it could probably be sent through e-mail.  Also, think about the person
  31. 12,000 miles away reading the list:  will they know what you're talking about
  32. or care?  If not, send it e-mail.
