- I purchased a Kirby in 1974, and paid about $Cdn 800.00. The machine worked
- well, but I'd never buy another one.
-
- The Kirby was very powerful, and the companion to the power was noise - you
- couldn't hear yourself think when it was running. The only real problem I
- had with it was that it eventually began throwing belts, and my wife and I
- finally got tired of replacing them (monthly) and flogged the machine.
-
- If I were to buy another, I'd buy it _used_, but I think I'd go for a used
- Rainbow first - they are available widely in my area for $Cdn 300-400.
