- Stupid me. I phoned them, they asked for my account number, I gave it
- to them, they confirmed the good rebate, and I posted the numbers.
-
- BUT ... phoning this morning and telling them that I had no account
- elicited the information that new accounts get 1/2% rebates for quick
- payers and 1 1/2% rebates for people who run balances (which offsets
- the interest, approximately), exactly as stated by the person who
- started this thread. I apologize for posting incomplete, and thus
- misleading, information.
-
- In summary, most existing holders of Ford cards have a great deal.
- This is particularly true for people who carry no balances. New
- customers definitely receive an inferior product, although it is still
- competitive with many other cards. In particular, the Ford card with
- the new terms is still comparable to Discover (worse for fast payers,
- better for slow payers) and, since it's a Visa, generally more useful.
-
- Make your own decision.
