  18. They will go at least as low as $800 if they really need to make the sale.
  19. These salesman have regular contests like:  most units sold in 
  20. November gets a trip to Hawaii.   Wait till the end of the month
  21. to buy if you are considering it, and then play hard ball.  Be
  22. prepared to say NO.  These salesman are like car salesman.  They
  23. will *sigh* and act disgusted at you offer; they will say, "let 
  24. me call the manager", etc.  They will use high-pressure tactics.

  26. Friends of ours bought one this way.  They paid $800 and I'm sure
  27. that Kirby still made a nice profit.  Its a good vacuum, but is
  28. it really worth the price?  Dunno.  Depends what your needs are.
