  20. Yes, they have several different names, including Leadership Management
  21. Institute, Success Management Institute, Success Motivation Institute,
  22. etc etc (about 8 the last time I heard of them, 1985 or thereabouts). At
  23. the time I knew of them, there were about a dozen lawsuits pending
  24. against them for misrepresenting SUCCESS of their franchisees. They, as
  25. you probably know but others reading this message don't, sell motivation
  26. courses, tapes, videos, books, etc.  They are (or were) based in the
  27. lovely town of Waco, Texas. :-)

  29. The product isn't bad, for what it is. The way they do business is
  30. questionable. As to you and your wife's success selling the tapes: 
  31.  
  32.     a) you'll have to put out large amounts of money to get your 
  33.     initial "kit" plus training at the facility in Waco.
  34.     b) you'll have to find stores willing to let you set up racks,
  35.     and/or convince companies to pay you to "train" their employees.
  36.     c) this is no longer the self-help decade.

  38. If you're still interested, call the BBB in Waco and ask for the current
  39. report; and make an offer for the lovely $300 sample kit I bought when 
  40. subjected to the full-blown pitch in Waco.

  42. Oh, if it was a distributor of the products that talked to your wife,
  43. then it may just be a legit job, if she will get paid salary+commission.
  44. If commission-only, forget it. She will make pennies for the dollars she
  45. makes for the distributor.
