- Dr. Hector Terry-Molinert, vice-minister of health for hygiene and
- epidemiology of Cuba, will talk about the public health impact of the
- Torricelli Bill, which places a new embargo on trade between
- subsidiaries of U.S. corporations and Cuba.
- Because 70 to 80 percent of this trade is in food and medicine,
- the public health impact is expected to be substantial. Terry, the
- second ranking Cuban public health officer, will outline the expected
- impact and take questions from the press. Press packets will be
- available.
- The American Public Health Association, founded in 1872, is the
- largest organization of public health professionals in the world, and
- the foremost publisher of public health related books and
- periodicals, promoting high scientific standards, action programs,
- and public policy for good health.
